What is the risk taker? Risk taker means that a person is willing to do things that involve danger or risk in order to achieve a goal.
Elon Musk is an example of an open risk taker. He is a co-founder, CEO and product architect of Tesla Motors. Musk has stated that the goals of Tesla Motors revolve around his vision is to change the world and humanity. His goals of the Tesla Motors are reducing global warming through sustainable energy production and consumption, and reducing the risk of human extinction. Musk is a person who trying to redefine the transportation on the earth. To achieve his goals, he started to take a risk to develop his company in this world which mainly use petroleum as the fuel of the vehicles. Though Tesla Motors, he is aiming to bring fully-electric vehicles to the mass market in this competitive world. Tesla Motors started first build an electric sports car, the Tesla Roadster, with the sales about 2500 vehicles to 31 countries.
Elon Musk also provided the initial concept and financial capital for Solar City, which was then co-founded in 2006 by his cousins Lyndon and Peter Rive. Solar City is the second largest provider of solar power systems in the United States nowadays. The motivation for funding both Solar City and Tesla Motors is to help combat global warming. In 2012, Musk announced that Solar City and Tesla Motors are collaborating to use electric vehicle batteries to smooth the impact of rooftop solar on the power grid.
Through this story, it proves that we need willing to take a risk to achieve our goals without fear being different from the others.
